Tellon secures planning for Harpur Centre

We are delighted to announce that Bedford Council has resolved to grant planning permission for the comprehensive refurbishment and extension of the prime shopping centre in the heart of the Bedford. The proposals seek to modernise the Centre with a comprehensive internal upgrade and new customer facilities, creation of additional floorspace and introduction of A3 units. An external upgrade will create feature entrances, modernise the external appearance and more sensitively link the modern shopping centre to the historic facades at Harpur Square. The scheme will create a step change in the quality of the Centre and create a retail and leisure environment more fitting for this location with better links to the new Riverside leisure scheme. The proposals will reaffirm the Harpur Centre as the heart of Bedford Town Centre and mark the start of the transformation process at the 40th anniversary of the Centre.
